About Me

About Me

My name is Karma Geljen Sherpa, a proud resident of Juving-1, Solukhumbu, Nepal, and the son of Migma Dorjee Sherpa and Lhakpa Doma Sherpa. From an early age, I have been deeply connected to the mountains that surround my home. My journey in mountaineering began when I was just 16 years old, starting as a porter and steadily working my way up to becoming a professional mountain guide and expedition leader.

Over the years, I have had the honor of summiting some of the world’s most challenging peaks, including seven ascents of Mt. Everest, two successful climbs of K2, and many more. I have climbed 10 of the 14 highest peaks in the world, each above 8,000 meters, including Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Cho Oyu, Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Annapurna I, and others.

In addition to my mountaineering achievements, I have undergone extensive training to ensure the safety and success of every expedition. From completing the Trekking Guide Training at the Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management to high mountain rescue courses, I have always strived to be fully equipped for the challenges of high-altitude climbing.

One of my most extraordinary accomplishments was summiting Mt. Everest twice within a single week in 2019, a feat that tested the limits of human endurance. In 2022, I successfully led the rope-fixing team on Mt. Manaslu in extreme weather conditions, marking another significant milestone in my career.

Mountaineering is not just a profession for me—it is a passion and a way of life. Through every climb, I continue to push my boundaries, aiming for new heights while sharing my love for the mountains with adventurers from around the world.
